FOLLOWING attempts today, Thursday, to burn the Tshirunzanani Primary School in the tension-filled Vuwani area, Limpopo, where residents are protesting against inclusion of their area into the new Lim345 municipality, the Pro-Makhado Demarcation Task Team which is leading the protest released the following statement:
“The Pro Makhado DTT have noted with disdain attempts of torching Tshirunzanani Primary School this morning and we strongly condemn these criminal elements which robs our country of its brighter future. These Barbaric and Criminal elements undermine the Genuine struggle of the People of Vuwani regarding their Demarcation Impasse.
We appreciate the efforts made by community members who acted swiftly and on time to alert the Police, when on the other hand extinguishing the fire in ensuring that the treasure and the future of our Children is protected and safe guarded. We urge the community members with information to come forward in ensuring that we bring these perpetrators to book.
The Pro Makhado DTT will continue to work and cooperate with the Law Enforcement Agencies to ensure that these Criminals are brought to book and face the Mighty Law of Justice. Therefore, members of the communities are urged not to partake in any form of violence and criminal acts during this time of Peaceful Protest. And furthermore, we urge the members of the Vuwani  communities and surroundings to be on HIGH ALERT to prevent these acts manifesting themselves.”
