POLOKWANE CBD and a neighbouring township of Seshego have shut down as protests against President Jacob Zuma gained momentum today, Friday.

Shop and office operations were ordered by the protesters and workers were also turned away. Public transport has also been affected and some of the roads leading in and out of Seshego were blockaded with burning tyres

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said the police were monitoring the situation: “The roads have been blocked. We have deployed police officers to the most affected areas to assist with calming the situation. Nelson Mandela Drive to Seshego and the Matlala Road are the ones that are currently blocked.”
