THE Umkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) has taken note of the decision by President Jacob Zuma to make changes to the National Executive (Cabinet).
As we have done in the past we reaffirm that it is the prerogative of the President to appoint the Cabinet and to make changes thereto, and we support the President in executing his Constitutional right to do so.
We are confident that these latest changes to the Cabinet will contribute to greater cohesion and clarity of purpose in the National Executive with the regards to the well know and stated primary objectives of the President to improve service delivery and to decisively and with speed implement Radical Economic Transformation (RET).
MKMVA congratulates the Ministers and Deputy Ministers who have been appointed to their new positions, and express our gratitude to outgoing members of the Cabinet for their service to our country. In doing so we reaffirm the principle that every deployee of the African National Congress (ANC) must always serve our country not as individuals but as members of the ANC in the understanding that, as the Freedom Charter states, all the people of South Africa must share in the wealth our country.
