Two “corrupt” female officers remain in custody

TWO female police reservists arrested for demanding a bribe from a foreign national are to remain in custody until April 21for formal bail application.

The two reservists’ constables stationed at SAPS Polokwane, Limpopo, arrested an illegal immigrant last Friday, April 7, and demanded R2000 bribe for her freedom.

The victim contacted her husband who deposited R400 through e-wallet and she was released on agreement that she would settle the R 1 600 balance and only then she would get her cell phone and other personal belongings which the two officers had confiscated. The victim reported the matter to police.

The two officers were arrested on duty at Polokwane CBD on Tuesday, April 11, immediately after receiving the R1 600 balance from an undercover police officer.

The two reservists’ constables, Wendy Heyman (40) and Tebogo Mojapelo (32), appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate Court on Wednesday, April 12.  They indicated their intention to apply for bail.
